Meet the Bayside Wellness and Fitness Center Trainers
Mark
Dana
Marks fitness career began in the late 70’s while still in high
school working for Nautilus Fitness Centers. Here he studied the
exercise principles developed by Arthur Jones the inventor of
the Nautilus exercise machines. Since then he has witnessed the
evolution of the fitness and exercise industry over the past 30
years. Mark has been established as a certified trainer since
1992 and maintains a training certification through the
National Academy of Sports Medicine. He also holds an
advanced certification as a Performance Enhancement
Specialist. This qualifies him to work effectively with
athletes of all ages and levels of performance. Mark has worked
successfully with athletes from various sports where he uses his
knowledge of human movement science to evaluate the way athletes
move. His training develops an athlete’s ability to perform with
optimal strength, power, agility and speed with a decrease in
injuries.
Mark is also a certified Corrective Exercise Specialist
and is able to work with clients who suffer from pain that had
prevented them from being active in the past. By evaluating
posture and movement he is able to identify muscle imbalances
that can lead to joint pain and muscle spasm. By implementing a
corrective exercise strategy to bring new range of motion to the
joints, pain and injury can be avoided and proper movement
patterns established. This prepares the body to become active
and vigorous without injury.

Deborah
Duschl
Deborah is an import from Waterdown, Ontario, Canada. With her
husband of 30 years, and two dogs, transferring here 3 years ago
was a new adventure. She has enjoyed teaching Pilates and dance
in a wonderful new climate.
She started ballet and tap at the age of 8 with the Royal
Academy of Dance and continued as an honor student till the age
of 18. Competitive dance and gymnastics earned her many medals
and scholarships. Theatre (acting, dance, choreographer, and
singer) as well as running a dance school for the next 20 years
filled her schedule. In 1996, a six week training course for
American Council on Exercise, (A.C.E.) on Maui sparked new
interests. Overstretched muscles and imbalances due to years of
dance led to an exercise called Pilates. Not only did it
strengthen and stretch muscles it helped to rebalance them. A
year of intense training earned her certification with Canadian

certified trainer with W.I.T.S and is currently working on her
National Academy of Sports Medicine certification, to enhance
her teaching with Pilates.
